"USA TODAY's Dad Rock podcast normally focuses on music that is relatively familiar to listeners, because the featured artists have released records on established labels. For this week's episode, hosts Patrick Foster and Jim Lenahan specifically sought out music from unsigned artists. They put out a call for submissions, and 120 singers and bands responded. A panel of USA TODAY screeners listened to all submitted songs and Jim and Patrick narrowed the list to their eight favorites.
